Painting while traveling, capturing aspects of your trip in an artist’s travel journal or while painting on location are fabulous ways to deepen and enrich your travel experience. You will return home with your own painted mementos of the trip that will take you right back there to re-experience it whenever you would like.

Dottie co-led her first painting travel trip to Spain (Madrid, Sevilla, Jerez) in May 2007 and has since been leading painting trips to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and Greece.

She co-led a  “Painting In Spain” trip in May 2014, with Salli Gutierrez (spain-connection.com), more trips to Mexico from 2008 to the present, and will lead return painting trips to Mexico, Spain (Fall 2022, 2023) Greece and Italy (Tuscany 2022) in the future. Ten days in the beautiful historic colonial city of San Miguel de Allende. We will stay within walking distance of the center of town (the Jardin) and spend 10 days painting en plein air and in making our own artist travel journals with instruction by Dottie Oatman. You will delight in this town of sumptuous color, textures, culture and endless painting subjects.
